Defender 110
Launched in 1948 at the Amsterdam motor show the Land Rover was designed to be used on farms as a tractor and pick-up truck. However, so successful was Land Rover that by 1951 it was outselling Rover cars.
The Land Rover 110 range was introduced to the UK and Ireland in 1983 and was a refined development of the sries III. The 110 name relates to the 110 inch wheelbase. First introduced in a 2286cc diesel engine as a Pick-Up, Hard-Top and Station wagon.
In 1991 the 90 and 110 was re-named the Defender.
