Bought some cheap Glow Plugs from the UK, but the problem is that they are CHEAP! Don’t really do a good job, I need to hold the ignition key on warm up for a good 60-90 seconds before they do anything. In the winter they are worse. Need to get some better quality maybe Bosch. Doesn’t pay to go for the cheapest with something like this.

New Defender intended for 2015!!!

LR has unveiled two new concepts for the Land Rover Defender, the go-anywhere vehicle. Named DC100 and DC100 Sport.

Land Rover claims that ‘DC100 and DC100 Sport capture the flexibility, adaptability and configurability that have always been key attributes of today’s Defender.’ It adds ‘DC100 demonstrates the future of Land Rover’s capability and versatility; DC100 Sport is an active expression of freedom and leisure’.

Both concepts are based on the same shared 100-inch wheelbase. They feature sustainable hi-tech materials and the latest technology to optimise fuel and operational efficiency at all times, in all modes and in all driving conditions. DC100 and DC100 Sport include a variety of capability technologies including a Terrain-i scanning device to warn of obstacles when off-road, Wade Aid sonar technology to assess water depth and Land Rover Terrain Response System, which automatically optimises the car for any environment.

Everyone has been guessing on what is going to happen to the Land Rover Defender. Sceptics were thinking the replacement just couldn’t match the classic current icon. Let’s face it even if the replacement was not good, there are enough old Defenders and plenty of availability of Land Rover parts that the defender could be going on for decades. However, the latest news is that there is a new 2012 engine. The new engine will replace the current 2.4 litre diesel with a 2.2 litre and the engine will be green, surpassing all EU environment targets. The engine will be good until at least 2016. This is great news as the current defender is still going to be around for a while. The demand for Land Rover parts in Ireland is still going to be going from strength to strength.

It seems the demand for Land Rover Parts is on the up world wide. The growing number of people buying second hand Land Rovers and rebuilding or modifying for off road use is definitely on the increase. All major suppliers of land rover parts are feeling the increase in sales. This seems to be true in Ireland. Every day I see more and more land rovers on the roads and more look like they’ve had modification. Chequer plate, snorkels, all terrain tyres, you name it people are adding to their land rovers. The great thing is that resale value of land rovers is good and spending a few euros on your land rover with a few well chosen parts can really make the difference.

Britpart now have a range of Land Rover Parts that carry a two year warranty, that right two years!!! Another reason why your have to buy from the UK as no one here in Ireland is supplying Britpart Land Rover Parts in a big way. There are a few land Rover buffs who buy in the odd part and then resell but not really able to supply a large range of Land Rover Parts. I’m still convinced that there needs to be an on-line shop for Ireland. Do you feel the same, would love to know.

Land Rover Parts still seem to be growing in demand here in Ireland. The more I get around the more I find that Land Rover owners are looking for good quality Land Rover Parts. Any garages I speak to al seem to say Buy from the UK, but I believe there is an opportunity to sell parts here in Ireland. What do you think? Would you like to be able to purchase Land Rover Parts here in Ireland at great Euro prices? Let me know!
